Summer 2005

  • Third year law student, Vanessa M. Cross, was recently awarded a scholarship from the ABA Section of Business Law as a result of her submission to their essay contest.  The scholarship was given based on her commitment  as a student member of the American Trial Lawyer's Association, her desire to represent victims, and her proficiency in trial advocacy.  She was also accepted to participate in their Partnership Advocacy Program. 
  • Third-year law student David Jarrod Holdford recently passed the Patent Bar Examination.  He studied approximately 400 hours in addition to the time he spent in this Patent Law and Information Technology classes at law school.
  • Assistant Professor Steven J. Mulroy presented an argument before the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals involving two issues of first impression in federal court; the duress defense and mentally-challenged defendants.
  • Assistant Dean Charles B. deWitt recently returned from temporary active duty with the Army Reserve JAG with the First Armored Division in Weisbaden, Germany.
