SUBSTANTIVE COVERAGE AND OBJECTIVES OF COURSE:
Common law and private restrictions on the use of land are reviewed briefly. Most of the course deals with zoning and land use by governmental agencies.
RELATION TO OTHER OFFERINGS IN CURRICULUM:
Together with Realty Transactions (Land Finance) provides a broad background in advanced property law issues.
RELATION TO BAR EXAM SUBJECTS:
Real property area in both Multi-State Bar Examination and individual state examinations. The format may be helpful in those states which have adopted performance testing as a part of their bar examination.
RELATION TO CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:
Knowledge of land use law is essential to the lawyer in representing developers and clients involved in real estate ventures.
