SUBSTANTIVE COVERAGE AND OBJECTIVES OF COURSE:

The subject matter of copyright; limitations on the subject matter of copyright; infringement of copyright; defenses to infringement.

OBJECTIVES: To teach concepts fundamental to Copyright Law so that students will understand and be able to apply them to analysis of issues arising in factual settings.

Prerequisite to Entertainment Law. Copyright concepts relate to Property (personal); Constitutional Law (Article I § 8 rights); basic and advanced Civil Procedure; Federal Courts; Antitrust; Unfair Trade Practices; Administrative Law; Evidence; Remedies; Business Organizations I; Law, Science, & Technology; Law and Literature; Legislation.
