SUBSTANTIVE COVERAGE AND OBJECTIVES OF COURSE:

To introduce students to the Tort law and practice discourse community. Students will critically analyze, deconstruct, and reconstruct the lexicon of Tort law and its rhetorical models through the study of the following areas: Intentional Torts, Privileges, Negligence, Factual Causation, Legal Causation, and Limited Duties.

Torts I overlaps with Civil Procedure, Trial Practice, and Legal Methods.

RELATION TO BAR EXAM SUBJECTS:

The Law of Torts occupies 40 questions on the 200 question Multi-State portion of the Bar Examination.
