Policy of Reciprocity The Career Services Office of The University of Memphis School of Law provides to alumni of ABA approved law schools reasonable access to career planning and placement services and facilities. Such services and facilities are available to the graduates of all law schools who reciprocate on behalf of the graduates of The University of Memphis School of Law. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Services are provided and facilities are made available within the following guidelines: - Requests for reciprocal services must be made in writing by a career services official. (Sorry, walk-in requests cannot be honored).
- Requests should be from the law school in whose behalf The University of Memphis School of Law is providing services / facilities.
- Requests should be received by The University of Memphis School of Law at least one week prior to furnishing services / facilities to referred alumni.
- Current position vacancy announcements for associates and career resource information are available to graduates of other law schools and may be viewed in the Career Services Office Access to our on-line job listings is not available to alumni of other law schools. On-campus interview appointments with prospective employers are not permitted. In addition, reciprocal graduates will not be permitted to participate in individual career counseling, off-campus job conferences, or resume referral services.
- A school may request services for two of its alumni per calendar year. Thereafter, each additional request will be granted on a one-to-one basis with the law school.
- The Career Services Office may further regulate or terminate services to any school or alumni surpassing three requests or misusing the facilities or services.
- Reciprocal services are extended for a period of one month to each individual. Reciprocity is not available from August 15 to December 1.
- The Career Services Office may amend or suspend this Policy, or any parts thereof, when it is deemed reasonable or necessary to do so.
- Applicants granted reciprocity must state in cover letters to employers that the job listings were provided by The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law through a reciprocal agreement with their school.
