A Tradition of Excellence

The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law was founded in 1965 and accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) in 1965. It was admitted to the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) in 2001.  Although it is the most recently established of Tennessee’s law schools, it has quickly achieved success in the traditional measures of law school excellence, most notably:

• The highest bar passage rate in the State of Tennessee over the last 15 years.

• A top law school state placement rate of over 98% within nine months of graduation for the last two years.

•  A Moot Court/Mock Trial program that has sent seven teams in ten years to the national competitions.

• Faculty scholarship published in prestigious nationally recognized law reviews.

• Faculty who earned their degrees from leading law schools.

• Consistently named an “excellent value” in legal education by National Jurist Magazine.

• Praise from accreditation bodies for the high quality of its educational program, faculty, teaching and placement.
