March 19 Mini-symposium sponsored by Black Law Students Association and the Memphis Law Review: “Affirmative Action at the Frontiers: Strategic Brainstorming for Remedying the Educational Gap.” Keynote speaker: University of South Carolina Professor Eboni Nelson, followed by a brief panel. March 31 Work-in-Progress Series presentation by Professor Michele Alexandre: “When Freedom Should Not Be Free: Investigating the First Amendment’s Potential for Providing Protection Against Sexual Profiling in the Workplace.” April 10 Work-in-Progress Series presentation by Herff Chair of Excellence Andrew McClurg: Presentation based on his book concerning the 1L experience (under contract with Thompson-West). May 10 Bench Bar Reception at Tops’l, Destin, Florida Events like these are supported by contributions from alumni of the Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. June 26 The Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law Alumni Chapter will team with the Young Lawyers Division of the Memphis Bar Association to host their annual CLE/Redbirds event on Thursday, June 26. The day's activities will begin with a CLE opportunity focusing on the Tennessee Waltz cases from 2 - 6 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Memphis. Afterwards, head across the street to AutoZone Park and join the YLD for Happy Hour as the Redbirds host the New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:05 pm.
