SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Through state appropriations and the generous donations of law school alumni and friends, over $500,000 in scholarship assistance has traditionally been awarded in previous academic years. Awards range from $1,000 to full in-state tuition.
First-Year Applicants are automatically evaluated for scholarship assistance based upon their admissions application. Therefore, with one exception (explained below), first-year applicants need not complete any additional scholarship materials to be eligible for scholarship consideration. The only scholarship that requires a separate application is the Tennessee Board of Regents Law Scholarship. Applicants who wish to be considered for this scholarship must complete the Tennessee Board of Regents Law Scholarship portion of the admission application. Scholarship recipients will be notified as soon as possible of their scholarship award, usually by May 1. In order to ensure full consideration for scholarships, first-year applicants should make sure that their admissions application is completed by the March 1st deadline.
Rising Second- and Third-Year Students must submit a completed scholarship application to the Law Admissions Office by March 15 in order to be eligible for scholarship consideration. When applying for a scholarship, students are advised to pay close attention to each of the mandatory application requirements. In addition, students should also obtain and submit any required documentation that must accompany the scholarship application. All of the materials necessary to apply for a scholarship may be obtained from each of the following links. You now have the option to submit an on-line scholarship application. All documents including letters of recommendation need to be submitted by March 15. Please note that if you choose the on-line recommendation forms, your recommender will receive this form electronically and can complete the form on-line. This form, as well as the electronic application, will be sent to the Law Admissions Office e-mail address for processing. Please follow up with the Law Admissions Office to ensure your application and recommendations have been received.
