Tuition & Fees...

The value of your legal education at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law compares very favorably with that available at other state-assisted and private institutions.  University tuition and fees are determined by the Tennessee Board of Regents and are subject to change each year.  The costs for the 2007-2008 academic year (Fall & Spring Semesters) are as follows:

*Based on Full-Time enrollment for the academic year.  Part-Time Tuition & Fees:  In-State = $9,794.00; Non-Resident = $25,490.00 (based on 8 credit hours first-semester and 10 credit hours second-semester)  Note:  Tuition and Fees above (for full and part-time) includes a $20 per credit hour law library fee.

Scholarships / Financial Aid...

A number of scholarships are available to entering students and applicants are automatically considered for scholarships based upon their admissions applications.  Scholarship award letters are usually sent by May 1st.

In order to receive financial aid other than scholarship assistance from the University of Memphis applicants MUST complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)) packets are available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, or by calling 1-800-4FED-AID.  The priority deadline for financial aid applicants is April 1st.

Confirmation...

Applicants selected for the entering class will be extended an offer of acceptance in writing. Applicants who choose to accept the offer must confirm their acceptance by April 1st or in the case of an applicant who is accepted after April 1, within two weeks of receipt of notification. A $250 seat deposit is required of all accepted students regardless of residency. The deposit is applied towards fall tuition and an orientation fee if the student enrolls in the School of Law.  This deposit is non refundable.

An applicant who does not confirm and/or pay the seat deposit within the deadline specified in the acceptance letter will forfeit his or her seat in the entering class.

A mandatory orientation and registration program for entering students is held each fall prior to the beginning of classes.  Details concerning  the orientation session are sent to accepted students in late spring.
