OTHER FACILITIES AND SERVICES

Audiovisuals.
The audiovisual collection is included in the library card catalog; a separate bibliography of these materials is available at the library desk. Videocassettes must be used in the Law Building. Audio cassette players may be borrowed in the library office (Room 114) for use in the Law Building.

Carrels.
Second and third year students may reserve study carrels on levels A, and D. If the number of carrel applicants exceeds the number of carrels, students may be asked to share carrels. Priority in assignment is given to students who are enrolled in courses which satisfy the research requirement, students who are writing law review notes or comments, and law faculty research assistants. Books (except Reserve books and certain other reference books) may be charged for extended use at carrels. To reserve a carrel, obtain a form at the library desk.

Copiers.
There are two self-service photocopiers in the copy room near the library desk and one on A-level. The machines may be used with a student ID or with copy cards. Copy cards may be purchased from the Vendacard machines located in the B-level copy room. The cost per copy is established by the University. Report any difficulty in using the copy machines at the library desk. Feel free to ask for help in learning to operate the photocopying equipment.

Interlibrary loan.
Interlibrary loan requests are handled by the Reference Staff. Always ask if you think you need an interlibrary loan; often, the reference librarians are able to suggest other resources in this library, other libraries, or online.

Microfilm prints.
Prints from microfilm may be obtained for $.25 per print. Request this service in the Library office, Room 114.

Missing books.
If you cannot locate a book, fill out a missing book report at the library desk. The library staff will search for the book and post a report on the Message Center within five days. (Attorneys and Univ. of Memphis Faculty may request a telephone report.) If your need for the book is urgent, ask for the reference librarian on duty. The reference librarian may be able to suggest other sources for the information or expedite an interlibrary loan request.

Telephones.
The telephones in the library are for library business use. There is a pay telephone in the student lounge. Free telephones are located in the S.B.A. office. The library does not have a paging system. Attempts to locate persons using the library will be made only in cases of genuine emergency. Attorneys using the library are requested to inform their offices of this policy.
